I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt

of your despatch No. 5473/1914 of the 26th. instant thanking Your Excellency for having sent the Superintendent of Opium Importation to our Colony, Mr. R. 0. Hutchison, who has acquainted me with the facts of the formalities which become necessary to fulfil in order that the exportation of raw opium in Calcutta be able to be made

to this Colony.

On these terms I have the honour to communicate

to Your Excellency that the authorized agent in Calcutta to solicit from the respective authorities the exportation of raw opium is Mr. B. II. Elias.

I ought also to inform Your Excellency that I have authorised the opium monopolist in this Colony to initiate on the 15th of June proximo the importation of raw opium for the contracted future year's consumption which begins on the lat. of

August.
